THE PATAN AWARD FOR 2005
The Patan Award for 2005 is presented to the composers, musicians, organisers, producers, pedagogues, etc. Thomas Liljeholm and Hans Parment.
Explanatory statement:
Thomas Liljeholm and Hans Parment stand united in their commitment to the survival of contemporary Swedish non-commercial art music. Mostly non-profit work within an organisation in which economic factors are often the governing parameters. The result is a well-functioning music life that has left the city regions and now includes children/young people in regional schools as well as internationally established artists. All of this with pedagogy in mind and an artistry of high quality.
For a commitment that supports contemporary Swedish art music.
Thomas Liljeholm and Hans Parment are connected to – and highly responsible for – the contemporary art music life in Växjö, e.g. via institutes such as Musica Vitae, CoMA, Musik i Syd, Växjö University, Media Artes.

THE AWARD AND ITS FOUNDER
The Patan Award was founded by Patric Simmerud 2003-10-25 and is presented on an annual basis in order to promote prominent cultural deeds, preferably in Swedish music life. The award may be presented to individuals, ensembles, organisations and/or companies.
The winner of The Patan Award is chosen by Simmerud and made public on October 22nd the following year.
