– International exchange project under the auspices of CoMA/Musik i Syd –
One of CoMA’s ensembles in residence, Trio TribukaitPetterssonBerg, is to take part in an exchange project in October 2004 with the Lithuanian piano trio Kaskados. On 21 October, Trio TPB will be giving a concert and attending a seminar at the Mariu Klavyrai 2004 festival in Klaipeda, Lithuania, and a month later, on 19-21 November, Kaskados will visit Sweden for concerts in Höör, Växjö and Halmstad.
The project is a result of collaboration between the Mariu Klavyrai 2004 festival and CoMA/Musik i Syd, and the exchange will also encompass programme content. Each ensemble will play both Swedish and Lithuanian music.
Four Lithuanian works will be given their first performance by the two ensembles: Osvaldas Balakauska’s ‘Nuovantica’ and a newly-written piece by Loreta Narvilaite, both for piano trio, Remigijus Sileika’s ‘Trio’ for flute, piano and percussion, and Loreta Narvilaite’s ‘Beyond the Horizon’ for flute, percussion and organ.
At the Klaipeda festival, Trio TPB will be performing ‘Tre canti dal giordino in rovina’ for flute, organ and percussion by Staffan Storms, one of CoMA’s composers in residence.
