PRODUCTION GROUPS
|
The CoMA set-up includes four production groups which work in parallel and are
fundamentally important parts of our operation. Each group comprises an ensemble,
a composer, CoMA management representatives and concert organisers. The presence
of the latter reflects the distributive ambition without which CoMA´s fully
integrated, all-round approach would lose credibility.
|
The formal work undertaken by each production group is markedly collaborative in character.
Once the CoMA management has appointed two ensembles - ensembles in residence - these
choose a composer each in consultation with management. Concert organisers are then
enlisted for both groups at an early stage.
|
Each production group works for just over two years. During this time, each
composer produces two works per annum for "his" or "her" ensemble.
Press, radio and TV are kept informed about the production groups'
activities prior to tours and concerts. The groups also pursue educational
activities in close collaboration with organisers, mainly in the form of seminars and teaching programmes.
|
A further aim of the CoMA centre is to present each ensemble´s composer in residence
abroad. By means of exchange projects, etc, CoMA will also be presenting foreign music in Sweden.
|
During the production work, the new compositions will be documented so
that they may be issued as CD recordings. At the end of
the two-year period, the production groups are succeeded by two new groups.
