Together with Media Artes, CoMA runs the Blomdahl Studio, named after Karl
Birger Blomdahl (1916-68), a locally-born composer who exerted a profound
influence on the Swedish music scene. The studio is intended primarily as
an electro-accoustic production studio for composition but is also used
as a teaching studio for course activities, etc. The studio is regularly brought up to date.

Despite its semi-professional character, the studio has attracted many professional composers.
Situated in the Italian Palace in Växjö, an artists' centre with a café/restaurant and a peaceful
lakeside environment, it offers an alternative approach to music composition.

The studio is open to professionally active composers. Overnight accommodation in
the building is available, as are limited travel subsidies.
