Om kulturkompis – Make Friends Through Culture

- In english, below -

IN ENGLISH

What is Kulturkompis (Culture Friend)?

”Kulturkompis – make friends through culture” gives newly arrived people and established Swedes the opportunity to experience cultural activities together – concerts, movies, and museums being some of possible activities. The project is part of the educational association (studieförbund) Bilda’s work with newly arrived and our commitment to provide meaningful activities that help to improve and strengthen the introduction to the Swedish language, the Swedish society and the participation in the social life.

Why should you be a Kulturkompis?

Art and culture are our universal language. By experiencing and using it together, we believe that exciting meetings, discussions and relationships can be achieved.

How does Kulturkompis work?

The participants in a Kulturkompis group are given free entry to three cultural activities that are hosted by arts, culture and entertainment actors in Stockholm. After the event, the group will then discuss three brief questions about the experience over a cup of coffee. To be part of Kulturkompis the group should consist of three to five participants (where at least 50 percent of the group consists of newly arrived people). The group decides both on which cultural events to attend (chosen from the events offered within the Kulturkompis package) and when to do it. The tickets are either booked from the arts, culture and entertainment actors’/venues’ websites or, when possible, by using the Kulturkompis card at the door. Read more about how the booking process for Kulturkompis activities work on Facebook or at the relevant actor’s/venue’s website.
